Tool #3 – Business Card Flyers

These are small and convenient to pass around. You’ll find a hundred ways to use them. First of all, make sure you include 5 to 6 in each of your three letters you mail to your Inner Circles contact lists.

Your Business Card flyers will include a "Headline" and the 2-paragraph version of your Family Bio, along with the words, Free Recorded Message, the toll-free phone number and your Website.

Its purpose is not to deliver your entire message, but rather to spark enough interest with a Birthmom (or her support network) that she wants to learn more. It will direct her to your Free Recorded Message or website where she can learn more about you. Download examples and a template from the Download page.

TIPS: Business Card Flyer

Content: This is NOT your typical business card. First of all, most business cards fail to use the reverse side of the card. It becomes waisted space. If you’re attempting to deliver a message, you should use EVERY opportunity. The back of a Business Card offers just such an opportunity and YOU WILL USE IT!

Also, this Business Card WILL NOT have your usual contact information. No Last name, No address, no City or State.

Use: You’ll be handing these out in stacks of 5 to 10 to your contact list. Also, you can hand them out freely to anybody else you meet.

All of your contacts will pass the cards to Birthmoms (or the support network of Birthmoms) in the event that they come across an adoption opportunity.

So, here is what your Business Card will need:

A tasteful design in a woman-pleasing color (light pastel is best). If you want to include a clipart image, keep it very small and tasteful. You may even be able to include a picture of you, but this might make the printing costs be much more expensive. So it is your choice.

Side 1: Top and Center: your Headline message. The headline should be just 5-7 words and should get a Birthmom’s attention. Also on side 1 will be your first names only, your Free Recorded Message line with the toll-free number, and your website address. That is all for side 1. You want to keep this side uncluttered, with a lot of "white space".

Side 2: This side will have your 2-paragraph version of your Family Bio "crammed" into that little space.
