Dear ______________________________

Hello again. It’s John and Mary. A few weeks ago you received our letter regarding our deep desire to be parents through adoption.

We thought we would write again to share with you a little more about us and why we’ve chosen to pursue parenthood through adoption.

(Add your own information here about your reasons for adoption. Also, if you’re brief, you can add a paragraph about one or two of the following ideas.)

Our Story

Our Jobs

Our Home

Our Beliefs

Our Family and Friends

For Fun

Our Thoughts on Parenting

Our Wish

How we got to where we are now

Our dreams for the future:

(As with the second letter, you should add an additional request to the reader, requesting that they spread the word of your Birthmom search to ten or so of their closest family and friends. It might sound like this:)

One more thing!

Actually, there is one more way you can help. If it wouldn’t be too much trouble, we would like to ask that you share our Birthmom search with eight to ten members of your family and friends, asking them to also stay alert to finding a Birthmom.

Great work can be accomplished in great numbers. Having eight to ten more sets of eyes and ears paying attention will add remarkable power to our overall search. Thanks again in advance.

(Finally, be sure to include each of the following paragraphs from the previous two letters. These are the important paragraphs.)

"We could really use your help!"

"So our request is this. Over the upcoming weeks and months, as you go about your everyday life, we’d like to ask that you keep your eyes and ears open for what we call an adoption opportunity. This is where you learn of a woman interested in making an adoption plan for her unborn or newborn child."

"Then, as you come across an adoption opportunity, we would ask that you pass along to the Birthmom (or to a person close to her) a copy of our non-identifying family information, or one of our information cards. (We have included this information with this letter)."

"Well, that’s it. We sincerely appreciate your help. Please carry a few Information Cards around with you in your wallet, purse or glove-compartment. Then if an "Adoption opportunity" presents itself, please offer the card."

"This will offer the Birthmom another choice for adopting parents and will help share our story and our desire to be parents through adoption."

(Close the letter as you usually would.)

Thank you very much for helping in this important quest.

We have the deepest of desires to be parents, and we think we will make GREAT ones! We just need the chance. Adoption will be our chance.

Your assistance will be heart-felt.

Warmly,
