Part 2: Create Your Family Biography

The Family Bio will be 2-4 pages describing your life together as a family, and must include why adoption was selected as a way to grow your family.

Remember, as you start writing this, you will begin with "just the facts", and not all the "touchy-feely" stuff. Later (after Part 3 below), you will sprinkle in the reasons why you will be the very best parents for a Birthmom’s child (the "touchy-feely" stuff).

NOTE: The Family Bio must be written in the first person, from the wife’s "voice". Women trust other women before they will trust a man. Sorry men. It’s just human nature. So for everything that a Birthmom reads, make sure it is written from the woman’s "first person" voice.

Family Biography Outline

The example on the following page may seem a bit "cold" as you first read it. But as you fill in the blanks with your personal information, and "tweak" the sentences to have your personality, it will be wonderful. The quotations will bring out the individuality in each of you as a couple and as individuals. They will help you sound like the warm, unique people that you are.

Also, in part 3 & 4 below, you’ll add all the terrific, beneficial reasons why you will be remarkable parents. Your bios will sound GREAT!

This list of items should be included in your personal bios, and should be written in the form of several paragraphs.
