Non-Identifying Information System
In addition to a Contact Partner, your Non-Identifying Information System will require some "tools" so it is easy for a Birthmom to learn about you.
Your audience for these tools will be a Birthmom and the people in her support network so the messages must have the following characteristics:
• Non-identifying: Regardless of your "open adoption tolerance", you want this printed information to only identify you by your first names. Keeping anonymity now is important. If you later build a relationship with your Birthmom, you can decide how much information to share. Keeping identities anonymous now protects both you and her.
• These tools must make it easy and "safe" for your Birthmom (and her support network) to access, and must provide an easy way for her to get in touch with your Contact Partner.
Here is a checklist of everything you may create for your Information System. The first six items on the list are a "must".
On the Gold Pages of this site, you will find directions on how to draft these items exactly. And you will find a library of examples already written and available for download.
• Individual personal biography/history – Your "Bio" (2 – 3 pages each)
• Combined family biography (2- to 3-page version)
• Combined family biography (1-page version)
• Combined family biography (2-paragraph version)
• "Free Recorded Message" (very detailed explination in the next section)
• Business Card Flyer
(Optional, based on your situation)
• 8 1⁄2 x 11" Color Flyer
• 4x6 handwritten Post Card
• Pull Tab Flyer
• Website to share information about you and your family online.
