Step 3: Contacting "Everyone Else"

In Step 2, we defined the basic essence of your message for each of your two main audiences. And we began to define your call to action that we will discuss in more detail in Step 5 (and will draft using Step 5 Gold Edition Enhancements available free on this website).

Now I need to explain how you will make and keep ongoing contact with all of these people.

Step 3 is the preparation step for your communication (marketing) campaign to the "Everyone Else" audience. It is through this campaign that you will initiate and maintain ongoing contact with hundreds, even thousands of people, all of whom will be keeping their eyes open for an "Adoption Opportunity"… just for you!

(For the moment, do not be concerned with exactly who you will be contacting, and don’t worry about how you’ll pay for this campaign. All that will be explained later, in detail. I promise.)

Here is a summary of what you'll be putting into action in Step 3.

You’ll be preparing a sequenced, stepped letter and postcard mail campaign as follows:

Letter 1: Introduction letter
Letter 2: Request Reminder letter
Letter 3: Getting to Know Us letter

Postcard 1: 1st Reminder
Postcard 2: 2nd Reminder
Postcard 3: 3rd Reminder

Postcard
x: xth Reminder.

Your first 3 letters will be designed to "build a relationship" with your contacts. Also, these letters will clearly spell out exactly what action should be taken if the reader runs across an "adoption opportunity".

After that, regularly scheduled postcards will be sent as a simple way to keep in contact and provide news and information about your adoption search.

Of course this also will act as a reminder to your audience that they should continue to keep their eyes and ears open for you. Before we begin with drafting these letters and postcards, let’s look at why we’re going to do what we’re going to do.

THIS NEXT PART IS REALLY IMPORTANT...so please do not skip over it!
