Step 4: Your Non-Identifying Information System
This System has one primary audience: A Birthmom and the people in her support network.
Because of this, you must design your information system to accomplish these three things.
1. It will create a "safe place" where a Birthmom can be directed to go (by all of those people who you have contacted) so she can learn about you. It will be very easy for her to access, and it will be non-identifying for both you and her.
2. The information shared with the Birthmom will help her clearly picture how wonderfully her child will fit into your family.
3. It will give her a safe way to RESPOND to learn more about you. It will provide the means by which your Contact Partner (see "Contact Partner" below) can get in touch with her or a member of her support network.
Your Non-Identifying Information System will include:
• Your specially chosen Contact Partner, the person who will be the first "live person" to talk with your Birthmom or a member of her support network. (See full details below.)
• Information Tools so the Birthmom can learn about you. These tools will include a toll-free phone number with a recorded message, personal and family biographies, and set of four types of informational "flyers" that can be mailed or emailed. Optionally, you can include a Web site. (See full details below.)
