The Theory: Direct Marketing Theory
(Stick with me on this one. This may seem weird at first, but these ideas will be the secrets to your success! I promise.)
As you move forward with your search using this site, you will be putting to use the very best of direct marketing techniques that exist in business. I know your adoption search is a very personal issue, but no one ever said you couldn’t apply sound business principles to personal issues.
Direct marketing is all about:
• Identifying a target audience.
• Communicating a message to that audience, and
• Moving that audience to respond (take action) in a specific way of your choosing.
Isn’t that exactly what we are trying to do?
With Goal #2, you are looking to "persuade" other human beings to keep their eyes and ears open for you. You are looking to communicate a specific message, to a targeted audience, requiring a very specific response with the desired call-to-action. Only the best of direct marketing techniques should be applied to such a noble goal as parenthood!
Let’s be clear. To find hundreds of people who will help you with your Birthmom search, you will need to develop and implement an aggressive, direct marketing (communication) plan to find them, get them to listen, and get them to help (take action).
